Weight Control

Hypnosis can help you to lose weight

Everyone can lose weight.

To lose weight it is important to maintain a balanced diet, and exercise.

Too many people fall into the trap of Yo Yo dieting you go on a strict diet you lose weight, and then you go back to your old eating habits, the weight goes back on .

So you go on a new type of diet lose the weight again but this time it's harder to slim down. Eventually you lose those extra pounds, you come off the diet, fall back into your old eating habits, and once more the pounds start to pile back on.

You are getting stuck in that vicious cycle where your weight is going up and down like a Yo Yo, and each time you diet it gets harder to lose that weight.

Hypnosis can help you lose weight by altering your attitude towards food and eating.

By eating what your body wants and not what you think that you should, Eating more slowly and enjoying the quality of your food rather than the quantity of the food,

Leaving some food on your plate

and stopping eating when you think you are full, rather than when you feel stuffed.

You are well on the way to losing that excess weight and keeping it off.

Need help to lose that weight

Hypnosis.

An Ancient healing Art

Hypnosis is one of mankind's oldest healing

therapies, there are hieroglyphics from

ancient Egypt thought to relate to it.

hypnos

(Hypnos God of Sleep)

A part of healing from ancient times, hypnosis is the induction

of altered states and the use of therapeutic suggestion,

that was a central feature of the ancient Egyptian and

Indian sleep temples as well as Greek healing temples,

Healing temples in Ancient Greece were dedicated

to the God of sleep 'Hypnos', the priests used

hypnotic techniques to bring healing to

Mind, Body and Spirit.

Variations of these techniques were practiced throughout the ancient world.

mesmer(Mesmer)

A form of Medical Hypnosis was resurrected in the eighteenth century by Dr Franz Anton Mesmer, who used what he called "magnetic healing" to treat a variety of psychological and psychophysiological disorders.

He became a very popular with the French nobility and elicited some remarkable cures before being discredited unfairly by a French royal commission, and disappeared into obscurity. Although he did continue to use 'animal magnetism' with those who sought him out. Hypnosis once again slipped into medical obscurity.

His name lives on with the use of the word 'mesmerised' which is still used to refer to as a trance like state.

braid(Braid)

James Braid is the man credited with bringing Hypnosis onto a scientific basis. He was a Scottish surgeon from Ballingry in Fife working in Manchester, and is regarded by many as the father of modern day hypnosis.

Braid became interested in the phenomenon known as Mesmerism in November 1841, when he personally observed demonstrations given by a traveling French mesmerist named Charles Lafontain and, in particular, he examined the physical condition of Lafontaine's mesmerized subjects and concluded that they were, indeed, in quite a different physical state.

Upon reflection, he became convinced that he had discovered the mechanism underlying these quite genuine phenomena, He started to study the phenomenon, and realized that in the altered state, people were much more open to suggestion, which when used in a proper manner could prove to be highly beneficial in changing belief systems, and to bring about positive change in their lives.

It was Braid who first used the word Hypnotism naming it after 'Hypnos' the Greek god of sleep. Later when he realised that hypnosis was not actually a sleep state, he tried to change the name to monodisim, but by that time hypnotism had caught the publics imagination and the new name never really took on.

From Braids work, hypnosis took on a form of acceptance with the medical profession, but it was not until 1955 that it was recognised as a legitimate form of treatment by the Medical association of Great Britain.
